Debbie Gettys really enjoys working with older pets. Debbie started working for Hills Science Diet Pet Foods as a company representative from 1988 to 1992. One of the reasons she started with Hills was to learn more about geriatric nutrition and how it correlates with the health in the older pet. Her experiences with Hills make her an invaluable resource to our practice as a nutritional consultant.

Debbie earned an Associates degree in Animal Health Technology from Pierce Community College in 1975, became a Certified Animal Nutritionist in 1982, and a Certified Veterinary Dental Technician in 1998.She worked as a nurse at various veterinary hospitals in Nevada, Oregon, & California before landing here.

Debbie did not go to school for her sense of humor but we sure appreciate it around here. She also has a flair for creativity and many of the displays that you see around our hospital are her own creation.

Debbie has two very smart cats, Argo and PJ, that keep her entertained during her off hours. She also enjoys hiking, especially at the ocean. She has spent the last 3 years volunteering as secretary for the Healdsburg Youth Soccer League and enjoys working with kids. Her recent love is volunteering at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito.
